Celeste Newcomb is a New York City based visual artist and filmmaker using video, installation, and performance.

Fascinated with the relationship between digital curation and human vulnerability, Newcomb’s study on this dichotomy began while working toward their bfa in studio art at the University of South Florida. Beginning their practice with experimental short films allowed them to lay the visual foundation for their portfolio by implementing conscious motifs such as split-screening, collage, and non-diegetic sound. The development of this experimentation drove their practice eventually toward documentaries. The documentary film genre opened infinite avenues to introduce first person accounts on body dysmorphia, displacement effecting identity, and gender performance.

Currently, Newcomb is expanding their emerging practice in the Integrated Media Arts MFA program at Hunter College and will graduate in 2025.
